General CV Planning Board Information

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board (CVCPB) is a group of elected volunteers who meet monthly to review and to evaluate proposed development plans and issues affecting the entire Carmel Valley and Pacific Highlands Ranch (PHR) communities. Serving in an advisory capacity, the CVCPB offers specific comments, recommendations and decisions to the City of San Diego's Department of City Planning & Community Investment, Planning Commission and City Council. The CVCPB has direct involvement with city, county and local law enforcement agencies.

Regular meetings on the Fourth Thursday of each month, at the CV Library.

CV Planning Board MAD Subcommittee, Feb 7, 2012

The Carmel Valley Planning Board's CV North Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) Subcommittee will meet on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 4:30 PM at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center (3777 Townsgate Drive). The agenda includes MAD Parks Permitting, Winwood Park tot-lot upgrade, Carmel Country Road median landscape project and a follow-up to the FY 2013 budget. CV Planning Board Special Meeting, Feb 1, 2012

There will be a special meeting of the Carmel Valley Planning Board at 4:30 pm, Feb 1, 2012 at the Carmel Valley Library, 3919 Townsgate Drive. The meeting will cover letters the planning board wishes to send on the Polo Fields and on the Retirement Community planned on Via de la Valle. Here is the agenda.

CV Planning Board Elections

Elections coming up for the Carmel Valley Planning Board, the seats for neighborhoods 4 and 7 are vacant, so, if you're interested in the community, here's you're chance to participate! CV Planning Board's January 2012 Agenda

Here is the agenda for the January 2012 meeting of the Carmel Valley Community Planning Board. The meeting is on Thursday night, January 26, 7:00 PM at the CV Library (3919 Townsgate Dr.) The agenda includes items on the local Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) Budgets, the San Dieguito River Park, the Del Mar Mesa Carmel Mountain Resource Management Plan, and the proposed development in the River Valley (Rancho Del Mar Retirement Community). Dec 2011 Regional Issues Meeting

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board's Regional Issues Subcommittee will meet on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 7:00 PM UPDATE: 4:30 to 6:00 PM (sorry!) at the Carmel Valley Library to discuss development issues in the San Diego community (this is the regular meeting date, the first Wednesday of each month.) On the Dec 2011 Agenda (attached) is the Worsch Way project: to consider a request for a 10 lot subdivision for 8 single-family homes in Neighborhood 5 (Immediately North of SR-56 between Carmel Creek Road and Carmel Country Road). This project has previously been considered by the CV Planning Board (see CV News Story Here), but a few discussion points remain to be considered (see the attached agenda for details.) Any recommendation of the Regional Issues subcommittee is passed on to the CV Planning Board for further consideration.

CV Planning Board's November 2011 Agenda

Attached is the November 2011 Agenda for the Carmel Valley Community Planning Board. The meeting is on Thursday night, November 17, 7:00 PM at the CV Library (3919 Townsgate Dr.) Please note that the meeting is a week early, due to a conflict with Thanksgiving. The agenda looks fairly light, with only a few items on the Action Agenda, all of which are requests for signage variances on commercial buildings on High Bluff Dr. Anyway, Here's the November CV Planning Board Agenda, hope to see you there!

CV Planning Board Meeting on Nov 17, 2011

CV MAD Meeting, Nov 1, 2011

There will be a joint meeting of the Carmel Valley Planning Board CV North MAD, the CV N. 10 MAD and the PHR MAD Subcommittees (for the area north of SR-56, the area south of SR-56, and the PHR community to the East) on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 4:30 PM at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center (3777 Townsgate Drive). The meeting will be to go over the proposed budgets for these areas, with the Agenda included below, or see the CV Planning Board Page for additional information about the Planning Board.

October 2011 CV Planning Board Meeting

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board will meet at 7 pm, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Carmel Valley Library (3919 Townsgate Dr., San Diego, CA 92130). Meeting topics include: an FBA update, and information on the City's plan to create a "San Diego Canyonlands Regional Park" (see attached letter.) CV Regional Issues Subcommittee, Oct 15 2011

Oops, sorry -- the meeting was on October 5 (not the 15th). A typo on my part, hope everyone made the meeting.

The CV Planning Board's Regional Issues Subcommittee will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 4:30 pm at the Carmel Valley Library to discuss two items: First are some issues and concerns from the Rancho Penasquitos Planning Board's Financing Plan that could be of interest to Carmel Valley, Pacific Highlands Ranch and Del Mar Mesa. Second is the Worsch Way Infill Development, near Del Mar Trails and Worsch Drive.

There will be a joint meeting of the two Carmel Valley Planning Board's MAD Subcommittees (for the area north of SR-56, and the area south of SR-56) on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 4:30 PM at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center (3777 Townsgate Drive). September 2011 CV Planning Board Meeting

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board will meet at 7 pm, on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Carmel Valley Library (3919 Townsgate Dr., San Diego, CA 92130). Meeting topics include: the Del Mar Highlands Town Center remodel, Via de la Valle widening, the St. John Garabed project, and the Sandy Lane project. Don't forget, there is a Special Meeting on September 24, 2011, 9 am to noon at Ocean Air Elementary School, 11444 Canter Heights Dr. The purpose of the meeting is to allow the community to review and give comments to the proposed One Paseo, a mixed-use project on the southwest corner of Del Mar Heights and El Camino Real.

CV Planning Board Community Forum on One Paseo

The Carmel Valley Planning Board is holding a community forum on the One Paseo Project on September 24th, from 9:00 am to noon, at the Ocean Air Elementary School's Multi-use Room. One Paseo (www.OnePaseo.com) is a proposed multi-use development at the corner of Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino Real. The development would include commercial space, residential, hotel and retail components. Come and express your concerns or support for the project at the community forum. The Ocean Air Elementary School is located at 11444 Canter Heights Drive, south of SR-56. See the One Paseo section for more posts on this subject and the One Paseo image.

Update: Just to note that the One Paseo website is fairly biased in favor of the project (it's run by the developer!) The opponents of the project have asked me to post a link to their website, www.WhatPriceMainStreet.com. Go there for the other side of the story.

August 2011 CV Planning Board Meeting

July 2011 CV Planning Board Meeting

The Carmel Valley Recreation Council meeting is canceled on July 5, 2011 as is the Carmel Valley MAD meeting. I guess everyone's still on vacation. Next meeting for both groups is the first Tuesday of August.

CV MAD Meeting for May is Canceled

The regular May 2011 meeting of the Carmel Valley Planning Board's MAD Subcommittee has been Canceled. The subcommittee regularly meets on the first Tuesday of the month. A subcommittee of the Carmel Valley Community Planning Board (cvsd.com/planning), the next meeting will be in June.
